Officials say cell service improving in Washington County, Adirondacks

Washington County and parts of the Adirondack Park are getting better connected.

Officials say cellular service and increased broadband connectivity in areas where they've been lacking are vital to economic development, safety, education and quality of life in the region. And state Sen. Elizabeth Little, R-Queensbury, plans to keep fighting for more coverage.

State Insurance reps in Salem, Sept. 28 to answer flood-related questions

     New York State Insurance Department representatives will be available Wednesday, September 28 in the village of Salem to answer flood-related insurance questions,  according to Senator Betty Little and Assemblyman Tony Jordan.  The Mobile Command Center van will be parked in the village municipal parking lot, 301 Main Street, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. next to the FEMA van.

Queensbury mother honored as 'Woman of the Year'

QUEENSBURY -- The mother of a local suicide victim has taken the offensive against prescription drugs with potentially harmful side effects, and her work is getting statewide attention.

Kate Miller’s son, Cody, took his life in 2007 — 17 days after beginning a regiment of Singulair to treat seasonal allergies. Cody was an underclassman at Queensbury High School.

ORDA venues enjoyed a strong winter season
