Chateaugay students commended for summer reading

    Senator Betty Little visited Chateaugay to commend a group of students who completed this year's summer reading challenge.  The kids were treated to a pizza party at Owl's Nest Pizza and More by teacher Mary Jones and Principal Loretta Fowler.  Senator Little presented certificates to each of the students.

Summer Reading Commended at Hadley Luzerne

State Senator Betty Little presents certificates congratulating elementary students at Hadley-Luzerne School District for completing the state summer reading program.  More than 70 students participated in the educational program.

Delicious potato chips in the making at Sustain Adirondack

Senator Betty Little joined a contingent of state and local officials for a tour of three Franklin County agricultural businesses.

One of the stops was Sustain Adirondacks which makes a variety of products including potato chips.  Sustain Brand products  are locally sourced within 300 miles or less.  That means a majority of ingredients come from local farms, products are processed by local hands and sales and profits benefit farmers locally.

Jensen is an 11th-grade student at Wells High School in Speculator.  Kircher is a senior at Queensbury High School, Queensbury.

Christmas Eve March Honors Soldiers

State Senator Betty Little participates in the annual Queensbury National Guard Soldiers Christmas Eve March, a tradition to recognize the sacrifices being made by all American soldiers and service members who are serving away from their families.

New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Queensbury Armory, local veterans and families of those serving our nation spent the morning of Christmas Eve conducting a three to five mile march to express support for their loved ones serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and locations around the world.

Water quality was focus of Senate Environmental Conservation Committee Hearing

Senator Betty Little and Senator Antoine Thompson, chair of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, listen to testimony at a water-quality hearing in Albany today.  The public hearing drew testimony from experts on many issues including sewage treatment, drinking water quality, storm water infrastructure, detection of pharmaceuticals in drinking water supplies and aquatic invasive species.

Senator Betty Little talks about Samuel de Champlain at Crown Point Celebration

State Senator Betty Little was one of the guest speakers at the Crown Point Quadricentennial Day Celebration on Saturday, September 19, 2009.

The event commemorating Samuel de Champlain's discovery of beautiful Lake Champlain also featured historic, cultural, educational and family activities, a special ceremony rededicating the Crown Point Lighthouse and a fireworks show.

Senator Betty Little today announced that Dr. Jacquiline Touba of Glens Falls has been recognized as a New York State Senate "Woman of Distinction." Dr. Touba was honored at a ceremony in Albany on Wednesday, June 10 along with 15 other women from across New York State.
