Little Supports New State Agriculture Commissioner

Little Supports New State Agriculture Commissioner -- Senator Betty Little is pictured with Patrick Hooker, New York State's 26th Agriculture Commissioner. Little enthusiastically supported Hooker's confirmation, noting his extensive agricultural background, which includes working for the New York Farm Bureau for 16 years and serving as the Director of the New York State Senate Agriculture Committee. Growing up, Hooker worked on a dairy farm, was active in the Junior Holstein Club and served as State Future Farmers of America President in 1979.

Senator Little presents the New York State Senate Liberty Medal to Margarette Bussing

Senator Little presents the New York State Senate Liberty Medal to Margarette Bussing, in recognition of her late husband's service to our nation. Warren S. Bussing was recognized in November at the Warren County "Honor a Deceased Veteran" Program. Mr. Bussing was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran who served for approximately 4 years. For his service to our country, he was awarded the European Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, 2 bronze service stars, American Theater Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He served as a Seaman 1/c aboard the USS South Dakota (BB-57) and USS General Harry Taylor.

Two Area Cadets Recognized In Albany

Two Area Cadets Recognized In Albany -- Cadet Andrew Bigelow of Hudson Falls and Cadet Robert Southerland of Salem were recognized recently in Albany during West Point Day. Cadets each year travel from the United States Military Academy at West Point to Albany where they meet local legislators, tour the State Capitol Building and are welcomed and recognized during the legislative sessions of the Senate and Assembly. Forestry Award Presented to Little -- Senator Betty Little is pictured with Hugh Canham (left) and Kevin King (right) at this year's New York State Forestry Recognition Dinner held on March 15. Little was presented a plaque in recognition of her efforts on behalf of the forest products industry.
