Kerry Tcask of Plattsburgh a NYACCE Student of the Year

Kerry Tcask, of Plattsburgh, and her three sons Kyle, Ryan and Nicholas, are pictured with Senator Betty Little in Albany on Wednesday, March 9.  Kerry received her continuing education from Champlain Valley Education Services and is a recipient of the New York Association for Continuing Community Education (NYACCA) "Student of the Year 2011" award.

Derek Genereux Receives Student of the Year Award

Derek Genereux of Champlain is pictured with Senator Betty Little in Albany on Wednesday, March 12.  Derek was recognized  the previous evening as a Student of the Year by the New York Association for Continuing/Community Education.  Derek completed his GED last year and has become an advocate to encourage younger peers to stay in school and proponent of anti-bullying efforts.  Derek was nominated for the award by Champlain Valley Educational Services.

Adult education student Alvin Smith honored in Albany

Alvin Smith of Champlain was honored  as a New York Association for Continuing/Community Education (NYSACCE) 2014 “Student of the Year.”  Mr. Smith shared his journey as an adult education student with Senator Betty Little in her Albany office on Wednesday, March 12.  Pictured from left are Senator Little, Mr. Smith and adult literacy instructors, Lanelle Wood and Gay Ellen Carlsson.
