Senator Adams, along with other elected officials, hosted an "Oldies but Goodies" Senior Concert for the Seniors in Brooklyn.  This was one of the events for Brooklyn Senior Month.

Senator Adams’ statement:

“On this eleventh anniversary of the most pernicious carnage our nation has ever experienced, that has stripped us of spouses, grandparents, parents, children, siblings, other family members, friends, and even the unborn – let us reflect on the void left behind by those who fell too soon and unexpectedly.  Let us honor their memory by standing for equality, freedom, liberty and justice of all.”

Senator Adams was the guest speaker for the Fatherhood/Brotherhood Initiative Movement, where he spoke about the importance of fathers involved in their children's lives, the importance of family values and ethics, and the need for father’s involvement in community affairs.

Senator Adams marched and participated in the 45th Annual West Indian American Day Parade. 

Senator Adams hosted a Health Fair at Wingate Park, where various public health organizations informed the public about how to take control of their health.

Senator Adams was the guest speaker at the Forrest Playground Neighborhood Association Awards Dinner, where he encouraged and awarded teachers for their contributions toward educating our children.

Dear Constituents:

It is September, and the summer will soon give way to a new school year and cooler temperatures. Although many adults tend vigilantly to the health and well-being of their children, they often forget to take complete care of themselves. We must never neglect our adult bodies; addressing and correcting problems in their initial stages may prevent irreparable damage.  A significant indication of this approach is the designation of September as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Senator Adams was awarded by the New York Black Pride organization the special Heritage Award, given to those individuals who exemplifies excellence in their field or has consistently demonstrated a commitment to community service above and beyond the norm.  Senator Perkins presented the award.
