October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Dear Constituents:

NYS Senator Eric Adams held a press conference to announce the launching of the “Hope Academy,” a new non-profit organization that will teach at-risk youth how to use mixed martial arts skills to address violence.  Senator Adams and various ultimate fighting trainers demonstrated some of the fighting techniques that will be used during the anti-violence pilot program.

Parent Empowerment 2012

NYS Senator Eric Adams in partnership with Youth America Inc., Healthfirst and PSCH convened the 6th Annual "Cradle to College Parent Empowerment Seminar" on Saturday, August 25, 2012, 12:00pm - 3:00pm. 

Dozens of workshops were presented by content area specialists who shared their expertise on a variety of topics, including career choices, jobs, health, nutrition, financial literacy, public safety and education.  Parents were provided with a vast array of resources that will enable them to guide their children on the path to success.

Dear Constituents:

It is September, and the summer will soon give way to a new school year and cooler temperatures. Although many adults tend vigilantly to the health and well-being of their children, they often forget to take complete care of themselves. We must never neglect our adult bodies; addressing and correcting problems in their initial stages may prevent irreparable damage.  A significant indication of this approach is the designation of September as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Brooklyn Quality of Life App

NYS Senator Eric Adams held a press conference to announce a new, unique crime fighting mobile app entitled "Brooklyn Quality of Life." The App will allow users to utilize their hand held smart phones and tablets to send evidence of criminal activity and dangerous conditions to city agencies.  The mobile app is now available for Android devices and will be available for the IPhone in 30 days.
