Senator Eric Adams comments on "Erin Merryn's law" during Senate Session

Senator Adams voted "yes" for the Erin Merryn's law today.  

The legislation, “Erin Merryn's Law,”   (S.6182 Klein/ A.8993 Dinowitz),  would require schools to make a change to their existing curriculum for child abduction to include age appropriate information on child sex abuse prevention. This alteration would give critically important information to victims – many of whom do not know there is a way out of their horrific situation.

Community Tribute for Zurana Horton

Senator Adams attended the community tribute for Zurana Horton, mother of 13 who was shot to death in front of a Brooklyn Public School while saving her children from gunfire. "A SHERO From Around The Way" was the theme for the tribute, that was hosted by a committee of Brownsville residents, concerned citizens, clergy, friends and activists.

Senator Adams joined the Members of the New York State Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Legislative Caucus to express their collective displeasure at the districts drawn by Senate Republicans.  These lines crack and pack minorities with blatant disregard to communities of interest and in some instances county lines. The Caucus sees it as an unparalleled power grab by the Senate Republicans to maintain their current strong holds and dilute the power of minority communities.
