National Art League Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Sunday September 13, New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) attended the ribbon cutting ceremony unveiling the new renovations at the National Art League in Douglaston.  Senator Padavan secured major capital grants to help make the renovations possible. The National Art League is an organization of professional artists and art students who seek to advance their artistic skills and works. Established in 1930, the National Art League has grown to now include 300 artists as a part of the organization.

Padavan and Poppenhusen Institute Team Up For Family Fun Day At MacNeil Park

 New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) announced today that he is teaming up with the Poppenhusen Institute in sponsoring the first annual Family Fun Day at MacNeil Park in College Point. The event will take place on Sunday July 11 from 2 pm to 6 pm.

 A free concert sponsored by Senator Padavan, featuring the Columbian folklore band Groupo Latino will follow the family fun day festivities at 6 pm.

Padavan, Poppenhusen Institute Sponsor Family Fun Day in College Point

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) in partnership with the Poppenhusen Institute sponsored the first annual Family Fun Day at MacNeil Park in College Point on Sunday afternoon July 11, 2010. The event featured fun games and educational programs by the Alley Pond Environmental Center, the Long Island Children Museum, the Fire Department of New York and the NYC Coalition of Transportation. Children and their families enjoyed a ventriloquist performance, inflatable bouncy bounces, sand and bubble art, face painting and various other arts and crafts.

Padavan and Local Residents Celebrate 35th Anniversary of Queens County Farm Museum at Annual Queens County Fair

New York State Senator (Queens) joined thousands over the weekend at the 28th Annual Queens County Fair at the Queens County Farm Museum in Floral Park. This year the Queens County Farm Museum celebrates their 35th anniversary. Since its foundation, Senator Padavan has been a driving force behind the legislative and community efforts to protect and preserve the Queens County Farm Museum.  The annual fair provides an opportunity for families and residents from Queens and the surrounding areas to enjoy a traditional agricultural fair and learn more about the rich history of New York’s oldest continuously operating farm.
