Padavan Presents Campaign Consultant Registration Amendment to Ethics Reform Legislation

During the debate, Padavan introduced an amendment that would have strengthened the legislation under consideration by the Senate. Padavan’s amendment is identical to his legislation, S.3254, which calls for the establishment of reasonable disclosure requirements for all campaign consultants including those who also engage in lobbying state officials. Under the amendment, campaign consultants must register with the Ethics Commission and list employees, clients and fees for services.

Senate Passes Ethics Reform Legislation

 New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) announced today that the Senate has passed ethics reform legislation. The legislation calls for the establishment of an ethics commission, reestablishes the lobbying commission, greater disclosure of legislators outside income and enhanced campaign finance laws.

Padavan Welcomes Troops Home at Freedom Salute

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) joined with family, friends and fellow veteran’s to welcome home troops from the 27th Financial Management Detachment at “Freedom Salute” ceremony at the Whitestone Armory on Saturday January 10, 2009. Padavan personally greeted the nearly two dozen soliders following their successful deployment and dedicated service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Padavan Honors A Pair of New Eagle Scouts In Bayside

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) honored John Raymond Dunham and James Robert Stankes, from Troop 49, during their Court of Honor ceremony at Sacred Heart Church in Bayside on Saturday January 9, 2009.  During the ceremony, Padavan presented the pair with the New York State Senate Medal of Outstanding Achievement and Certificate of Merit in recognition of their service to the community and achieving the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout. Senate Passes Leandra's Law

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) announced today that the Senate has passed Leandra’s Law, the nation’s strongest DWI law by a unanimous bipartisan vote. The legislation, co-sponsored by Padavan, is the largest increase of criminal penalties for DWI convictions and includes the expansion of measures aimed at preventing drunk driving incidences throughout the state.
