Senator George Maziarz met recently with Param Poojya Brahmarshi Shri Kumar Swami Ji at the New York State Capitol. 

At one time he was regarded as one of the best healers of the world.  He has been the personal doctor of the presidents, prime ministers, and ambassadors in India.

Remembering the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War

Senator Maziarz met with a group of Civil War reenactors in Albany today, the 150th anniversary of the bombing of Fort Sumter to highlight a proclamation “to congratulate and commend the New York State Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee and other recognized statewide historic organizations for their initiative and public service in volunteering to advance the observance of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in the State of New York.”

All State musicians visit Albany

Participants in the recent New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) event in Albany include two members of the All State Jazz Ensemble from the 62nd Senate District: Michal Craig from Gates Chili High School (drum set) and Paul Rappolt from Starpoint Junior Senior High School (alto saxophone).  Also, Daniel Montgomery of Gates Chili High School sang with the All State Vocal Jazz Ensemble as a tenor.

Discussing energy efficiency in Monroe County

Senator Maziarz was an honored guest at a testimonial dinner for the visiting American Legion Department Commander, Ladies Auxiliary President, and Sons of the American Legion Detachment Commander at the Sheret Post #35 in Albion.  The Orleans County American Legion is part of the 8th District and includes: Sheret Post #35 in Albion, Butts-Clark Post #204 in Medina, Jewell-Buckman Post #529 in Holley, and Houseman-Tanner Post #1603 in Lyndonville.

Oak Orchard Health expands

Getting feedback from agencies that serve the developmentally disabled

Senator George Maziarz recently attended a legislative luncheon co-hosted by Niagara Cerebral Palsy, Opportunities Unlimited, and Rivershore--Niagara County's three primary voluntary non-profit agencies.  The focus of the discussion was the impact of Governor Andrew Cuomo's proposed budget cuts on these agencies and the people they serve.
