Senator Maziarz visits Spruce Elementary School

Senator George Maziarz recently visited Spruce Elementary School in North Tonawanda to meet with dozens of sixth graders and read the popular story, "The Giverbacker Parade."  Senator Maziarz fielded questions from the kids and spoke to them about the importance of giving back to their community.

Senator Maziarz Announces Funding For Orleans County School Districts

 

             Senator George Maziarz (R-C, Newfane), is pleased to announce that he was able to secure funding for the 5 school districts in Orleans County from the Legislative Education Aid Grant Process.  Each of the five districts-Albion, Holley, Kendall, Lyndonville and Medina-will receive $50,000 to spend in their district on what their top priorities are.  Senator Maziarz was joined by the School District Superintendents to announce the awarding of the funding as the new school year starts.

Orleans County school districts benefit from Bullet Aid

Senator George D. Maziarz is pleased to announce that he has secured “bullet aid” earmarks in the 2013-2014 state budget for school districts in Orleans County.  Each of the five school districts—Albion, Holley, Kendall, Lyndonville, and Medina—will receive $67,800 in bullet aid, which is above and beyond the regular state aid these districts are slated to receive.

Today’s announcement was made at the offices of the Albion Central School District, hosted by Albion Superintendent Mike Bonnewell.

Summit for Smarter Schools is widely attended

Senator George Maziarz, Senator Tim Kennedy, and Assemblyman Sean Ryan last night hosted the “Summit for Smarter Schools” where a diverse set of stakeholders gathered for a substantive conversation about smarter schools reform and the future of education in New York State. A capacity crowd of over 2,000 people is expected to attend the Summit at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo.
