This morning Senator George Maziarz joined a host of officials--including Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy and Senator Charles Schumer--in touring Lockport sites that suffered severe damage as a result of last week's heavy rainfall. The officials are working to ensure that emergency aid is made available to the greatest extent possible.
If you or someone you know in the Lockport area suffered property damage during the late June flood, this message is for you: the State of New York is making a total of $2,000,000 available to help Niagara County residents repair and rebuild.
These dollars—earmarked in the state budget for emergencies such as ours—will be very helpful to local residents because there was not enough damage to trigger FEMA aid, and insurance providers do not cover all losses.
Senator George D. Maziarz, (R-C, Newfane) is pleased to announce that three bills he is co-sponsoring to provide financial assistance to municipalities and residents affected by excessive flood damage in Niagara County in the early summer of 2013 were approved on Monday, January 27, 2014 by the New York State Senate.
