Niagara County Refuse Disposal District in association with Senator George Maziarz ran a “Protect Your Identity Day” on August 15th, 2009. Businesses were allowed to securely destroy sensitive documents, electronics and x-rays at a onetime no cost opportunity.
With Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s signing of a youth archery bill last week, hunters aged 12 and 13 will be able to hunt big game during the coming archery season.
Previously, youths ages 12 and 13 could hunt small game with a parent or designated adult 21 or older. For years, State Sen. George D. Maziarz (R-Newfane) had sponsored a Senate bill to allow for a lowering of the archery hunting age from 14 to 12.
“Since my press release of January 3, I have spoken at length with local government leaders and representatives of both local and national animal welfare organizations. These individuals have further convinced me that a truly independent and transparent investigation of the allegations concerning the Niagara County SPCA (NC SPCA) is absolutely necessary.
This past Saturday, Senator Maziarz’ staff and Niagara County Legislator Cheree Copelin joined other local volunteers cleaning up Niagara Falls as part of Beautify Niagara. Pictured are a few volunteers who cleaned in the LaSalle area.
