         Niagara County Refuse Disposal District in association with Senator George Maziarz ran a “Protect Your Identity Day” on August 15th, 2009. Businesses were allowed to securely destroy sensitive documents, electronics and x-rays at a onetime no cost opportunity.  

Young archers can now tackle big game

FROM THE BUFFALO NEWS

With Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s signing of a youth archery bill last week, hunters aged 12 and 13 will be able to hunt big game during the coming archery season.

Previously, youths ages 12 and 13 could hunt small game with a parent or designated adult 21 or older. For years, State Sen. George D. Maziarz (R-Newfane) had sponsored a Senate bill to allow for a lowering of the archery hunting age from 14 to 12.

Beautify Niagara

 

This past Saturday, Senator Maziarz’ staff and Niagara County Legislator Cheree Copelin joined other local volunteers cleaning up Niagara Falls as part of Beautify Niagara.  Pictured are a few volunteers who cleaned in the LaSalle area. 

 

Update on Middleport remediation

Click the link below to read a letter Assemblywoman Jane Corwin and I recently sent to Governor Andrew Cuomo regarding our efforts to protect the quality of life in Middleport. 

Our letter is critical of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s over-zealous calls for property remediation, and it asks the Governor to intervene on behalf of our community.
