Last weekend Senator George Maziarz (R-C, Newfane) was presented with the Legislative Champion Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This award was bestowed in recognition of “significant leadership in advancing the care, treatment, and quality of life for people living with cystic fibrosis in New York.”
Senator George Maziarz helped cut the ribbon to mark the completion of a reconstruction and expansion project at Oak Orchard Health in Albion. More room was added to the facility for doctors and patients thanks in part to HEAL-NY grant funding.
Senator George Maziarz joined with independent pharmacists from around the state today to promote legislation he introduced (S.3510) that would prohibit health insurers from requiring prescribed drugs be obtained from mail order pharmacies.

But we have something important in common. We have heard repeated concerns from constituents who were blocked from filling prescriptions at neighborhood pharmacies that have served their families for generations. It turns out their insurance providers forced them to buy prescriptions from mail-order companies rather than their trusted pharmacists.
