Major upgrades coming to Route 19 through Brockport

A $5.6 million contract to upgrade Route 19 in the village of Brockport and towns of Sweden and Clarkson, Monroe County, has begun. The contact was awarded to Crane-Hogan Structural Systems of Spencerport. 


Improving safety along Dysinger Road

Senator George Maziarz recently met with NYS Department of Transportation officials to encourage them to take actions to improve pedestrian safety along Dysinger Road in the Town of Lockport.  There have been several recent accidents in the busy corridor.

Meadow Drive Extension in NT opens

Mayor Ortt, Congressman Brian Higgins, Senator George Maziarz, City Attorney Shawn Nickerson and other local officials participated in a ribbon cutting event for the long awaited Meadow Drive Extension which will extend from West to East between Nash Road and Erie Avenue.

The project, which included 1.4 million dollars in federal funds, along with state and local funds, has been in the works since 2006.  It now connects the mid-city business district to a burgeoning commercial/industrial corridor along Erie Avenue, while improving traffic flow in the city.
