TIER V PENSION REFORM LEGISLATION SIGNED INTO LAW

Senator Maziarz today announced that Governor Paterson has signed into law pension reform legislation that will provide more than $35 billion in long-term savings to New York taxpayers over the next thirty years. NY Drivers Will Pay More for Plates

 

It's another fee adopted in this year's state budget and it will affect every New Yorker who owns a vehicle.

By April, 2010, new license plates will go out. And when you renew your registration or get a new vehicle you'll be required to get them. And it will cost you more too. The new plates will increase from $15 to $25.

May is Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month.

Senator Maziarz co-sponsored a resolution declaring the month of May 2009 as Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month in New York.

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic tumor disorder that causes tumors to form along the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. Symptoms may include brain tumors, blindness, deafness, seizures, disfigurement, learning disabilities, and cancer. To date there is no cure or effective treatment.
