In addition to Senator Flanagan, Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith and Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy will be joining Mahopac Superintendent Manko and Senator Ball’s Mandate Relief Advisory Council at the September 7th roundtable.

Tax Cap Lowered From 2 Percent To 1.66 Percent

Brewster, N.Y. – 8/12/2013 – New guidelines recently released by the state comptroller’s office have revealed that because of a decline in inflation, the state’s property tax cap in 2014 will be lowered from 2 percent to 1.66 percent. “Everybody when they come back feels like there’s something wrong with them, or they’re broken, or they’re the only ones feeling this way,” Tim Strobel, the Suffolk County program coordinator for the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer to Peer Program, explained to a group of local officials at Carmel’s Spain Cornerstone Park Thursday. “But when they come to this group,” Strobel continued, “they hear the other guys talking. It almost validates what they’re going through.”
