The Senate took up the bill on New York State Animal Advocacy Day at the Capitol, where legislators and animal advocates network, share ideas, and lobby for stronger anti-cruelty laws.

Brewster, N.Y. – (6/03/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) is calling to pass his legislation for a one-year moratorium on hydraulic fracturing before the end of session. The bill (S6261) would suspend fracking in New York State until June 1, 2013 to allow the state to catch up with necessary funding and means of regulating the industry and its practices.
As a sophomore at Carmel High School and a member of state Sen. Greg Ball’s Student Advisory Council, my time on the council has been most rewarding. Every week Sen. Brewster, N.Y. – (5/22/12) – After a four year struggle with the legislature and insurance industry, Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) has passed Hannah’s Law (S5034A) through the New York State Senate. The legislation is named after Yorktown resident, Hannah Devane. Hannah is a seven year old girl who suffers from eosinophilic esophagitis, a potentially fatal condition that makes it impossible for her to eat most foods.
Albany, N.Y. – (5/29/12) – The New York State Senate passed legislation that will extend the maximum amount of days victims of domestic violence may stay in residential facilities from 135 days to 180 days. The bill S6308A/2651A, sponsored by Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) will provide individuals and their families who are staying at domestic violence shelters with the opportunity to apply for an additional 45 day extension.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Croton resident Eugene Parrotta was inducted into the New York State Senate Veteran’s Hall of Fame on Tuesday, by Senator Greg Ball (R-Patterson). Once a year, each New York State Senator chooses a veteran to induct. Parrotta was one of 60 inducted Tuesday.
