Hello Neighbors,

 

Last night, the entire Hudson Valley Region was hit with an unusual, late October snowstorm that dropped over a foot of snow in many areas across the region. The incredible weight from the heavy snow and ice caused many trees to fall, and in many cases, they fell on power lines, causing widespread power outages across the region.

CON EDISON: WORKING TO RESTORE SERVICE AFTER RARE OCTOBER SNOWSTORM

 

NEW YORK –About 77,000 customers are without electric service this morning after a rare October snowstorm hit the region. More than 67,000 of the affected customers are in Westchester County; Staten Island has approximately 3,400 customers without electricity and The Bronx, about 4,100. The remainder are scattered in Brooklyn and Queens.

NEW YORK – More than 77,000 customers have lost electric service from today’s fall snowstorm. Nearly 61,000 outages are in Westchester County; Staten Island has approximately 8,500 customers without electricity and The Bronx, about 7,000. The remainder are scattered in Brooklyn and Queens. As the heavy, wet snow continues to pile on tree limbs, additional outages may occur.

Brewster, N.Y. – (10/27/10) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) today joined Yorktown Councilman Dr. Terrence Murphy for a news conference in Yorktown Heights, N.Y. where they demanded that legislation be introduced and passed for the protection of our children. Ball and Murphy are calling on officials in Westchester County to enact Child Safety Zone legislation, which prohibits convicted sexual predators from living within 1,000 feet of any school, playground, school bus stop, or other areas where children congregate.

SENATOR BALL TEST DRIVES SIMULATORS DESIGNED TO SAVE TEEN LIVES

 

Mahopac, N.Y. – (09/28/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) today visited Mahopac High School to test drive four newly donated driving simulators. The state-of-the-art machines were donated to the school by The Justin Scott Wagner Memorial Foundation, created by Scott Wagner following the loss of his son in a 2007 car accident.
