Senator Ball Joins Doc Gooden, Mayor Cindrich to Thank Sports Authority’s Donation to Mount Kisco Little League

White Plains, N.Y.  – (08/02/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) joined Mount Kisco Mayor J. Michael Cindrich and New York pitching great Dwight ‘Doc’ Gooden to honor Sports Authority for its donation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and heart shields to the Mount Kisco Little League. In addition to the generous donation, Sports Authority has also commitment to train coaches and parents for emergency situations on the ball field.

Senator Ball’s Town Hall Tour Makes 2nd Stop in Southeast, N.Y.

Brewster, N.Y. – (07/29/11) – A lively crowd turned out for the second stop on Senator Greg Ball’s (R, C – Patterson) Town Hall Tour tonight in Southeast, N.Y.  The tour, which provides communities with an update following this year’s legislative session, drew dozens of residents who were eager to ask the Senator questions about ethics reform, state spending, highway repairs and property taxes.

Amenia, N.Y. – (07/28/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) stopped by the Town of Amenia today to drop off a $100,000 check; grant money he secured for the Trail to the Train Project. The state funding will help the town meet its goal of extending the Harlem Valley Rail Trail 3,500 feet southward from the Wassaic Metro North Station into the historic hamlet of Wassaic.

Senator Ball Kicks Off Advisory Committee for Sportsmen and 2nd Amendment Advocates

July 26, 2011 – A long time advocate for sportsmen’s rights, Senator Greg Ball has organized a Sportsmen’s Advisory Council, designed to field input and answer questions from local sportsmen. The Council, which consists of members from Dutchess, Westchester, and Putnam Counties, as well as leading advocates from throughout New York State, met tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Senator Ball’s district office located at 1441 Route 22 in Brewster,  N.Y. The Council is being chaired by NRA Member and Kent Town Councilman John Greene.

Chairman Ball Urges Action on Honor Deserving of New York Veterans

Carmel, N.Y. – (07/21/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, held a meeting in Putnam County to get the word out about legislation(S5381A/A1386A) that would create a State Veterans Cemetery in New York. The informational meeting, which was held at the Spain Memorial Cornerstone Park in Carmel, N.Y., was designed to educate the public about the legislation, as well as the United States Veterans Cemetery Grant Program.

Senator Ball Introduces Bill in Response to Death of Florida Toddler

Brewster, N.Y. – (07/20/11) – In the wake of controversial acquittal that shocked the nation, and left many wondering if Casey Anthony got away with murder, Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) today introduced legislation that would make sweeping changes to the state’s child protection laws to help protect children from cruel and repeated abuse. The Protect Our Children Act (A8540) would create the new crime of aggravated murder of a child with a sentence of life without parole.

GOVERNOR SIGNS BALL, CASTELLI MILITARY PROTECTION ACT

Brewster,  N.Y. – (07/18/11) – A bill that protects the jobs of public employees who are called to serve their country is now on the books in New York State. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed The Ball, Castelli Military Protection Act (S4583A) into law. The bill, sponsored by Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) and Assemblyman Robert Castelli (R, C – Goldens Bridge), protects public employees’ jobs when they are absent on military duty.

Albany, N.Y. – (06/30/11) – Last week, the New York State Legislature made history, passing a Property Tax Cap bill (S.5856) that includes much needed  mandate relief for local schools and governments. Now that the legislation is on its way to becoming law, a lot of New Yorkers want to know what it means for them.
