ORISKANY, N.Y. — The importance of the military and security facilities in Oneida County cannot be underestimated. That was the message of the State Senate’s Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee chairman during a visit to some of those sites.
ALBANY — State Sen. Greg Ball, a Republican known for his maverick sensibility, enhanced that reputation further with his introduction Wednesday of a proposed moratorium on hydraulic fracturing, the controversial natural gas drilling technique better known as hydrofracking that’s under review by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
Mahopac, N.Y. – (11/12/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, along with volunteers hosted a free thanksgiving dinner for close to 600 veterans and their families at the Mahopac Fire House.
New Yorkers are still sharply divided over whether hydrofracking should be allowed. The big holdup is whether drilling can be done without environmental damage. State Senator Greg Ball wanted to get a firsthand look at the impact of hydrofracking, so he traveled to Pennsylvania with filmmaker Josh Fox.
Albany, N.Y. – (06/25/11) – It’s the end of a five year battle for Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) who is proud to announce the passage of an historic piece of legislation that caps property taxes in New York State. The bill (S.5856), which Senator Ball began advocating for during his days in the Assembly, will cap property taxes to 2 percent, plus provide local schools and governments with badly needed mandate relief.
