May 11, 2011 - Senator Greg Ball (R, C, 40th District –Westchester/Putnam/Dutchess) Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs Committee, is sounding the alarms in the wake of recently released documents showing Al Qaeda was plotting an attack on the U.S. rail system, possibly for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Chairman Ball said documents found in the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound should serve as a wake-up call about the continued threat to our nation’s homeland security, specifically our rail system.
“This is by no means an ‘I told you so’ moment,” said Chairman Ball who has repeatedly raised red flags about the weaknesses to nation’s rail system. “These documents are a call to action about the importance of not only remaining vigilant, but stepping-up security.”
Putnam County veteran received prestigious honor at “Hall of Fame” event

Military Employment Protection Bill Passed NYS Senate and Assembly
Albany, N.Y. – (06/23/11) – New York’s public employees who are called up to serve their country will soon have one less thing to worry about. Their jobs! Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, sponsored and passed a piece of legislation (S4583A) that protects a public employees’ job when they are absent on military duty.
Brewster, N.Y. – (07/18/11) – A bill that protects the jobs of public employees who are called to serve their country is now on the books in New York State. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed The Ball, Castelli Military Protection Act (S4583A) into law. The bill, sponsored by Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) and Assemblyman Robert Castelli (R, C – Goldens Bridge), protects public employees’ jobs when they are absent on military duty.
