This will be something the political junkies will want to see — the Senate’s Deputy Democratic Minority Leader Mike Gianaris and GOP Sen. Greg Ball will be appearing tonight on “Hannity” at 9:00 p.m.

Albany, N.Y. – 1/14/2013 – “We needed solid provisions to keep the violently, mentally ill from harming our communities, our kids and our families. That didn’t happen tonight. While much in this bill, as far as stiffer penalties for real criminals and help on the mental health front is good, the last minute push, in the middle of the night without critical public input from sportsmen and taxpayers was outrageous and forced members to vote on a bill they had not read.

State Sen. Greg Ball says a Saturday burglary in White Plains — where the two men, now in custody, were trying to open a gun safe — was facilitated by the Journal News’ decision to publish a map showing pistol owners names and addresses.

A Republican state senator from New York is blaming a controversial handgun map for the recent burglary of a gun owner’s residence in White Plains. According to Newsday, at least two burglars broke into the home on Saturday evening, as part of an effort to rob the owner’s gun safe. Local police say the were unable to open the safe, and that one of the suspects has already been taken into custody.

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) – A New York State Senator says that an attempted gun burglary has been tied to the Journal News’ map that lists names and addresses of residents with gun permits.

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.

Albany, N.Y. – 1/10/2013 – Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) said, “In his first two years, we successfully partnered with Cuomo to cut and cap taxes, begin a full repeal of the MTA Payroll Tax and reform Albany’s long history of corruption. I am proud of those bipartisan accomplishments, but now is not the time to stand on the carrier deck and announce ‘Mission Accomplished’. Outside the canyons of Wall Street, Main Street is still hemorrhaging and even when compared to other states, New York is still in decline. Our small business owners are suffocating every day, taxes spawned by unfunded mandates and burdensome regulations, and New York State bureaucracy at every level continues to be every small business owner’s worst nightmare. Before focusing on divisive social issues, we need this Governor to stay focused on the three things that matter most: jobs, jobs and more, jobs. Let’s continue the hard work to make New York State a leader on that front, again.”

Editors At The Journal News Cry “Uncle”

Albany, N.Y. – 1/08/2013 – “How ironic that the same irresponsible editors, who one day before Christmas, went out of their way to place a virtual scarlet letter on law abiding firearm owners, including victims of domestic violence, hero cops and single moms, are now crying uncle. When asked to take the site down, they told all of these good, law abiding people to “eat cake”. Well, now these same editors are getting a taste of that poisonous cake and if anything can wake them up and force them to take the interactive crime spree map down, maybe it will be their own intrinsic cowardice, because we sure as hell can’t rely on their good judgment,” said Senator Greg Ball.
