What a great community we live in! On Saturday November 12th we hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for over 600 Veterans at the Mahopac Fire House. Let me be perfectly blunt: we could not have done it without the outpouring of community support from local businesses, organizations and hundreds of volunteers.

SENATOR BALL DEMANDS INVESTIGATION AND LEGISLATION FOLLOWING SLOW STORM RESPONSE BY FOREIGN-OWNED UTILITY

 

Yorktown Heights, N.Y. – (11/04/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, today was joined by elected leaders from throughout the Hudson Valley, calling for an investigation into the slow response time by NYSEG following last weekend’s Nor’easter. In addition to holding a hearing to examine the root of the problem at NYSEG, Chairman Ball is also introducing legislation that would prohibit a foreign-owned company from operating utility services in New York State.

Brewster, N.Y. – (11/07/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) today was joined by business leaders from throughout Putnam County announcing the need for collaboration in moving forward several shovel ready projects in the agriculture, technology, commercial, real estate, energy and manufacturing sectors. The projects represent over 3,000 permanent and 1,500 construction jobs. If state sponsored economic development support is approved, these projects could provide a significant boost to job creation and a big increase in local municipal revenues to support schools and public services.

ONLINE APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE FOR NYSEG’S EMERGENCY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

 

Rochester, NY – NYSEG now has applications online for its Emergency Economic Development Programs for eligible businesses, municipalities, large residential establishments, agri-businesses and farms affected by Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee. NYSEG’s request to spend up to $7 million on these programs was approved by the New York State Public Service Commission on October 19.

NYSEG CREWS HAVE RESTORED 92% OF SERVICES INTERRUPTED

Rochester, NY – NYSEG crews have now restored 92% of the 109,000 services that were interrupted as a result of the “October Surprise” snowstorm, primarily in the company’s Brewster, Liberty and Mechanicville operating divisions.
