HUDSON VALLEY REPORTER: PAWLING SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT GETS HALF-MILLION DOLLAR GRANT

PAWLING, N.Y. – A senior housing project in the town of Pawling has received a half-million dollar grant from the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) to help with the construction of the project’s infrastructure.

The project, known as Castagna Commerce Park, is a planned mixed-use, multi-phased development that will consist of medical offices, retail stores, senior housing, and assisted living facilities. It is estimated to break ground in the summer or fall of 2014.

FOX 23: LEGISLATION REQUIRING ABUSERS TO PAY FOR CARE OF SEIZED ANIMALS BECOMES LAW

BREWSTER, N.Y. – A bill that will require animal abusers to pay for the cost of care for abused animals that have been seized, has been signed by the Governor and will now become law.

Following the recent reports of animal cruelty statewide, Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) said this legislation, S2665B, couldn’t come at a better time.

CORTLANDT, N.Y. — Sen. Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson) recently traveled to Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie to pick up clothing for Montrose veterans.

Ball picked up clothing that was collected for a veterans winter clothing drive that will be delivered to Hudson Valley veterans that are in need of warm clothing. Lourdes collected t-shirts, diabetic socks, underwear, warm coats, gloves and hats for residents at the Montrose Hudson Valley VA Hospital.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.– Hudson Valley veterans will be a little warmer this winter thanks to a clothing drive conducted by Poughkeepsie’s Our Lady of Lourdes High School in coordination with state Sen. Greg Ball  (R, C, I – Patterson).

Ball travelled to Our Lady of Lourdes High School last week to pick up clothing that was collected during the  drive. Lourdes collected t-shirts, diabetic socks, underwear, warm coats, gloves and hats for residents at the Montrose Hudson Valley VA Hospital.

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. — The Regional Economic Development Council granted $59.6 million for Mid-Hudson Region projects, Sen. Greg Ball (R,C, I-Patterson) announced recently.

The Mid-Hudson REDC is continuing a commitment to invest in technology, tourism, infrastructure revitalization and waterfront development, according to officials. The priority project focus in 2013 for the Council included job-creating projects in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, projects to improve healthcare and wellness in the region, and boosting tourism by taking advantage of its proximity to major markets.

Carmel, N.Y. – 12/13/2013 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) joined 41 young adults on Wednesday evening at the Putnam County Youth Court 26th Graduation Ceremony.

Brewster, N.Y. – 12/11/2013 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) is inviting parents, teachers and concerned residents to attend a Common Core Forum at the Carmel Town Hall on January 16th at 6:00 PM.

Senator Greg Ball will be hosting the community forum to review the impact and effectiveness of the new Common Core Standards in New York State. The new standards were designed to provide a uniformed standard for students, preparing them for college and careers. However, many residents have raised concerns with the program and its implementation.
