SENATOR GREG BALL TO HOST STAR TAX EXEMPTION WORKSHOPS

Brewster, N.Y. – 11/12/2013 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) is urging anyone that is currently receiving the Basic School Tax Relief exemption (Basic STAR) to reapply by the end of the year to continue receiving the benefits.

Senator Greg Ball will be hosting a series of STAR Exemption Workshops on Friday, November 15th, to help residents apply to continue to receive their Basic STAR exemption.

DAILY VOICE: LOCAL VETERANS TO BE INDUCTED INTO VETERANS HALL OF FAME

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — The picks are in for the 40th Senate District’s third annual Veterans Hall of Fame.

State Sen. Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson), chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, recently asked towns, villages and cities throughout his district to nominate a veteran for the Hall of Fame and nearly two dozen veterans will be inducted Nov. 21, according to a press release. Ball will help induct the veterans at a ceremony at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 at Mahopac Falls Elementary, 100 Myrtle Ave.

The following is a list of Veterans Day discounts on goods, services and dining that have been announced for 2013.

Keep in mind that most businesses require proof of military service, which can include a VA Universal Access Card, Military I.D., DD-214 (Discharge Papers), Veterans Service Organization Card (VSO’s include groups like the VFW, DAV, AmVets, MOAA, MCL, FRA, and the American Legion), or in some cases businesses will accept a picture of the veteran in uniform.
