SENATOR BALL DELIVERS $100K FOR ALMA MATER

Pawling, N.Y. – 04/17/2014 – Students at Pawling High School are now enjoying a new fitness center thanks to a $100,000 state grant that Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) has secured for his alma mater.

“I was honored to deliver this grant for my high school. The students and sports teams didn’t have an adequate fitness facility. I am happy that this funding has allowed the school to finally make this project a reality. This is a beautiful room that will be used by many generations to come,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office, I will continue to fight to bring as much of our tax money back home, where it belongs.”

Louise Cantarella of Carmel, a volunteer at Putnam Hospital Center, was relieved that her blood pressure was perfect. “Not bad for a gal my age,” said the “seasoned” citizen who was among some 300 area residents from across the region who participated in Friday’s senior health fair at the hospital to help celebrate PHC’s golden anniversary.

THE COURIER: HEROIN EPIDEMIC KILLS 38 YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS PUTNAM

Putnam’s heroin scourge has reached epidemic proportions with 38 young people fatally overdosing since 2012 and arrests increasing countywide for heroin sales and possession by more than 300 percent.

The startling revelations were made Friday at a forum in Mahopac attended by school and town officials from throughout the Putnam, northern Westchester, south- ern Dutchess region—a gettogether coordinated by State Senator Greg Ball and the Putnam Valley based Peers Influence Peers Program.

MIDHUSON NEWS: PURPLE HEART HOMES TO RENOVATE NAM VET’S HOME

BREWSTER – State Senator Gregory Ball (R, Patterson) is joining with the Purple Heart Homes organization to remodel the home of a local Vietnam war veteran.

Ball is chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee.  He said they will upgrade the home of Private Daniel Flanigan, a 100 percent service-connected disabled Vietnam veteran who lives in Pawling.
