Senator Farley Honors High School Ski Team

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of presenting the Town of Webb Union Free School District Boys Aline Ski Team with a NYS Citation on March 13th for their 2015 State Championship win. The Senator (pictured far lest) presented it to Connor Glasser, Carter Lawrence, Adam Levi, and Charlie Uzdavinis when he was in Old Forge for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Senator Farley Meets Local 4-H Educator

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting local 4-H students and 4-H educators at the annual 4-H Legislative Breakfast on March 3rd in Albany. The breakfast, as part of 4-H Capital Days, gives youth an opportunity to meet and interact with legislators and tell their 4-H story, create an awareness of career opportunities in New York State government, better understand state government, and network with delegates from other counties. Senator Farley meets Fulton-Montgomery 4-H Educator MacKenzie Moore.

Senator Farley Gives Students Tour of Senate Chambers

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of visiting with students from Birchwood Elementary School, Niskayuna school district, on Oct. 30th when they came to the Capitol for a tour. The Senator brought the students to the Senate Chamber floor to show them where legislation is discussed.

Fall Back This Weekend

I just wanted to give you a heads up that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. Clocks are to be set back one hour in the early morning of Sunday, November 2nd. They won’t “spring” forward until March 8, 2015. As always, fire officials suggest changing batteries in smoke detectors twice a year and recommend doing it when changing the clocks for Daylight Savings Time, ensuring they are fresh and up-to-date.

Senator Farley Salutes Gloversville's Library

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) spent the morning at Gloversville Public Library discussing the library’s renovations and celebrating the new windows on Oct. 23rd.

Calling libraries the “cathedrals of learning” and stating this particular library is “the gem of Gloversville,” Senator Farley was pleased to have been able to secure funding over the years to help the library keep up with the demands of its users. Recently, he was able to secure funding to replace the windows in the historic Carnegie building with efficient and historically accurate replicas.

“As a longtime library advocate and Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, I strongly feel that libraries are a place of lifelong learning,” Senator Farley said.
