Senator Farley Salutes 4-H Youth from Fulton and Montgomery Counties

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting 4-H youth from Fulton and Montgomery Counties on March 6th as they participated in the 4-H Capital Days Legislative Breakfast in Albany. Representatives from the 4-H program, under the direction of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, included Jesse Cressy of Glen, Kaitlyn Duseler of St. Johnsville, Deborah Johnson of Pattersonville and Sabrine Krutz of Johnstown.

Senator Farley Salutes Schalmont Girls Soccer Team

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of presenting the Schalmont Girls Soccer Team with a New York State Senate Resolution on January 31st for winning last fall's New York State Class B Championship. Present for the event at the Senate Chambers were Head Coach Angelo Caschera, Schalmont Athletic Director Joe Gallo, and players Karley Murray, Angelina Gazzillo, Katie Saccocio, Hannah Saccocio, Madeline Saccocio, Nicoletta Cuttita, Hailee Metzold, Rachael Gac, Jenna Saccocio, Ciara Vitallo, Megan Strijek, Amanda Mascitelli, Allie Gallo, Isabella Borini, Taylor Florio, Shanna Reagan, Alexandra Cardinal, Diana DiCocco, and Gabrielle Juers.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting with students from McNulty Academy, Amsterdam, on January 30th when they came to Albany to tour the State Capitol and learn about New York State history and government.

Fort Plain School Officials Host Senator Farley

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) toured Fort Plain Central School District’s educational buildings on November 14th. Also on the tour was Assemblyman George Amedore (R - Rotterdam). Giving the tour and talking with Senator Farley about the school’s facilities and education issues were Superintendent Douglas C. Burton, school board member Jeff Jones, Harry Hoag Elementary Principal Cathy Brucker, and sixth grade teacher Lisa Van Valkenburg.

Senator Farley Promotes Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Information at Tribes Hill

Many people came out to the annual Fire Safety Night held by Senator Farley and the Tribes Hill Fire Department. GAVAC showed off their ambulance and gear and the Hagaman Fire Department gave tours of their fire safety house. Tribes Hill firemen gave a demonstration on extracting people from a vehicle in the parking lot while 10 vendors were inside the firehouse giving away information on a variety of safety and health topics. Montgomery County Emergency Management was also on hand and presented a slide show of the recent disasters and rescues that occurred.

Sen. Farley Visits Historic Site Showcasing Modern Technology

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) toured the new George E. Franchere Education Center at the Mabee Farm, Rotterdam Junction, on Oct. 7th. The 13,000 square-foot building is "green," meaning it is energy efficient with 100 solar panels and is environmentally friendly. The cost of the project was some $2 million and Senator Farley was able to obtain two grants totaling $100,000 for it. For more information on the George E. Remembering 9-11

One of the New York Remembers exhibit is located at the lower level of the Riverfront Center in Amsterdam. State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady said), "I commend Governor Cuomo for bringing the ‘New York Remembers’ exhibit to many locations throughout the State, including Amsterdam. It is important that we remember that terrible day. We need to honor the victims, thank the rescue personnel and volunteers, and take steps to prevent such future acts of terrorism and protect our country." Each location will remain open until the end of September. All will be open on Sunday, September 11th.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) enjoys music at the Fulton County Office for the Aging picnic with Maureen Phillips, member of the Perth Senior Center, and Assemblyman Marc Bulter. The picnic was held on Aug. 4th in Gloversville and over 400 seniors attended the day affair.

Senator Farley Meets Hillside

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting fourth grade students from Hillside Elementary School, Niskayuna School District, on June 7th when they came to Albany for a field trip and tour of the Capitol. Senator Farley spoke with students from Carol Herrington, Christopher Lasher and Danielle Druzynski’s classes and discussed New York State government and how a State bill becomes law.
