State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of listening to music performed by VanAntwerp Middle School’s chorus and chamber strings on March 24th when the students performed in Albany as part of Music In Our Schools Month, sponsored by the New York State School Music Association and Music Educators’ National Conference. This is the 39th annual year for Music in Our Schools Month and performances were held throughout the month of March at the South Concourse of the Empire Plaza. Sen. Farley Discusses Government With Fonda-Fultonville Students

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) met with political science students and teacher Mary Brown from Fonda-Fultonville High School on March 22nd. The students asked Senator Farley budget-related questions as part of a class assignment. The students were Nicolette Angioli, Kayla Bloom, Jaimyn Chang, Justin Danise, Michael Downing, Kyle Geniti, Zachary Godfrey, Chelsa Hutchins, Joshua Krajewski, Jessica Lozier and Ashley Paton.

Senator Farley Meets With Highway Superintendents

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) met with local members of the New York State county Highway Superintendents Association on March 9th when they came to Albany to discuss their 2011 Local Roads Matter Advocacy Program. Discussion topics included CHIPS (Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program) funding, establishing a local bridge and culvert initiative, and reforming the Dedicated Highway and Bridge Trust Fund.

Senator Farley Salutes Schenectady's Youth of the Year


State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of chatting with Shaylia Thomas of Schenectady on March 22nd when he honored her in Albany for being a two-time winner of the Schenectady Boys and Girls Club’s Youth of the Year award. The Senator met her last year when she won the honor for 2010. They discussed her plans for attending Cazenovia College in the fall when he honored her this week for being the 2011 winner.

Senator Farley Salutes Student of the Year


State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting Orachorn Thongnak Meyer o f Scotia, New York Association for Continuing Community Education’s Student of the Year, on March 9th in Albany. She was nominated by the Washington Irving Education Center. New York Association for Continuing Community Education is a statewide association that provides information and support for professionals serving the needs of lifelong learners. Senator Farley Discusses New York State Agriculture Industry

On March 1st, State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) met with Farm Bureau representatives in Albany to discuss how important agriculture is to New York State. Among the delegates were two Montgomery County Dairy Ambassadors.
