Senator Farley Greets Hillside Elementary Students

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting fourth grade students from Hillside Elementary School, Niskayuna School District, on June 5th when they came to Albany to tour the Capitol.

Senator Farley Salutes NYS Trooper

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of presenting a New York State Senate Citation to Trooper Sean Wells of Ballston Spa upon his graduation from the New York State Police Academy on May 29th at the Empire State Plaza. Trooper Wells was among a class of some 200 graduates.

Senator Farley Salutes Guardian House

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R - Schenectady) with Mary Lasky, financial director at Saratoga County Rural Preservation Company. The group oversees the Guardian House, a home that helps women veterans. The Guardian House just won $25,000 from a Home Depot "Aprons in Action" Facebook contest and is currently in the running for a Home Deport Facebook prize of $250,000. The money would be used for the shelter and to help build a wellness center. Senator Farley Proposes Legislation to Help Veterans

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R - Schenectady) is pictured with U.S. Army Major General Peter S. Lennon and his wife, Elaine Lennon, on May 17th at the Guardian House in Saratoga County. The Senator unveiled legislation that would create a voluntary tax check-off for New Yorkers to contribute to programs and services for veterans. The bill, A5409/S4349, creates a voluntary tax check-off fund for New Yorkers to contribute to veterans programs and services like the Guardian House for women.

Senator Farley Greets Long Lake Volunteer

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting James McIntyre of Long Lake, an honoree from his district at the 2013 Senior Citizens Recognition Day on May 7th at the Capitol. The event is hosted by the State Office for the Aging and recognizes older volunteers for their service to fellow New Yorkers. Senator Farley also had the pleasure of recognizing the recipient in the Senate Chamber during Session. Mr. McIntyre severed his country with honor in the Army and is an active member and former Commander of the Long Lake American Legion. He contributes his time to Warren-Hamilton Counties Community Action, Hamilton County Council of Senior Citizens, and the Office for the Aging Advisory Council.

Senator Farley Salutes Award Winning Girl Scout

State Senator HughT. Farley (R – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting Girl Scout Julia Jaikin and her father, Manheim Town Councilman Peter Jaikan (right), at the annual Girl Scouts Legislators’ Showcase Day in Albany on April 30th. Ms. Jaikin recently won the Gold Award for her display featuring the consequences of texting while driving. At the Capitol, Senator Farley had the pleasure of viewing her exhibit and discussing texting while driving laws in New York State.
