Senator Farley Tours Johnstown Library

State Senator Hugh T. Farley took a tour of the Johnstown Public Library with Director Erica Wing on January 25th. Wing invited the Senator to look at improvements the library made with funding obtained by Senator Farley. Senator Farley obtained special education grants in 2012 for all of the libraries in his district, including the Johnstown Public Library. As Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Libraries, Senator Farley said, "I am proud to have been a lifelong advocate for libraries, and will continue my efforts to assist them in meeting the needs of the public."

Senator Farley Salutes Fire Fighters

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) is pictured with David Devall, Secretar of the Galway Volunter Fire Department, at the department's annual installation banquet on January 12th. Senator Farley Salutes Living Resources

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was on hand at the ribbon cutting ceremony, held October 31st, officially recognizing Living Resources as a full service certified home care agency for 10 counties. Pictured with Dr. Fred Elrich, Senator Farley was also pleased to celebrate the organization's 25 years of assisting people with developmental disabilities in the Capital Region.

Senator Farley Salutes Schenectady Physicians

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) recently had the pleasure of presenting the New York State Senate Liberty Medal to Dr. Clifford Tepper and Dr. Arnold Ritterband, co-medical directors of the Schenectady Free Clinic. Both are retiring after dedicating numerous years of free medical knowledge to uninsured residents of Schenectady.

In 2002, Drs. Ritterband and Tepper were advocates of Senator Farley's legislation that authorized the creation of the volunteer-based organization. In 2006, another Farley-sponsored measure made the Schenectady County pilot program permanent, and in 2008 Senator Farley sponsored the law which expanded the program Statewide.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting the third and fourth grade students from Northville Central School on June 14th in Albany. The students took a tour of the Capitol, talked with Senator Farley about New York State history, and visited the Observation Deck at the Corning Tower on the Empire State Plaza.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C, I - Schenectady) was honored to receive the 2012 Distinguished Service Award from the Library Trustees Association of New York State. He was presented with the award on May 16th when the association’s president Mary Ellen O’Connor came to the Senate Chambers in Albany to honor Senator Farley in front of his colleagues.
