Senator Farley Spends Afternoon With Fulton County Seniors

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C,I - Schenectady) spent the early afternoon in Gloversville at the 23rd Annual Senior Picnic hosted by the Fulton County Office for the Aging.

Over 500 people attended the July 29th event.

"Fulton County seniors are wonderful and the OFA staff did an excellent job," Senator Farley said about the day.

SENATE GIVES FINAL PASSAGE OF "GOLD ALERT"

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) announced that he and his colleagues in the New York State Senate gave final passage on June 16th of legislation that expands an existing alert system to help locate missing vulnerable adults. The "Gold Alert" bill (S.3293B) creates a system to help authorities get proper notifications, coordinate resources, and investigate incidents where individuals, such as those with illnesses or disabilities, go missing.

SEN. FARLEY ANNOUNCES SENATE PASSES LEGISLATION TO HELP FAMILY CAREGIVERS

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) reports that he and his colleagues in the New York State Senate recently passed a measure that would help caregivers receive the necessary resources to deliver care to older adults and others with long term health needs in a home setting. The CARE Act (S676A) would reduce future hospitalizations of patients by ensuring that caregivers are involved in and educated about patients’ needs and how to best meet them once they leave the hospital.
