Senator Farley Salutes Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was pleased to honor the Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band with a New York State Senate Resolution on Feb. 9th at the State Capitol for the group placing third in the juvenile division of the World Pipe Band Championships, held in Glasgow, Scotland, on Aug. 15, 2009. Honorees included: Maureen Connor, Alex Allendorph, Ryker Bodo, Colin Dowd, Jackson Kovalchik, Hayden LaBelle, Michael Miller, Michael Soressi, Bryan Wilson, Colin Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Reid Perry, and instructor Eric MacNeill.

Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) admires the art work of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School student Joseph Malinowski that was displayed in the Well of the Legislative Office Building in Albany on Feb. 22nd as part of the New York State Art Teachers Legislative Student Art Exhibit. Joseph is the son of Joseph and Ellen Malinowski.

New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), along with the Music Educators' National Conference (MENC) is celebrating March as Music in Schools Month. As part of this celebration, area schools are giving special performances at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Local schools that are performing this month include: Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus, Northville Central School Senior High Band, Van Antwerp Middle School Chamber Strings, and the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus.

This is the 39th annual year for Music in Our Schools Month and performances were held throughout the month of March at the South Concourse of the Empire Plaza.

Senator Farley Salutes Fonda-Fultonville Select Chorus

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting members of the Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus when they performed on March 31st at the Empire State Plaza Concourse in Albany as part of the New York State School Music Association’s "Music In Our Schools Month." The chorus performed under the direction of Lisa Vosburgh.
