The New York State Senate overwhelmingly approved a resolution today (February 9th) calling on President Obama and the U.S. Attorney General to move the trials of terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks.State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was one of several Senators on both sides of the aisle to speak in support of this resolution. The federal government has been planning to hold these trials in New York City.
It’s hard to believe, but it is true. Fifty years after the 1963 Equal Pay Act was signed into law, pay discrimination in the workplace still exists in America.
In June, the Senate unanimously passed legislation to strengthen New York’s laws and ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work. However, action is still needed by the State Assembly on this bill.
