Sen. Farley and Tribes Hill Fire Dept. to Host Annual Fire Safety Night on Oct. 20th


With October being National Fire Safety Month and residents preparing homes for the winter months, State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C,I - Schenectady) and the Tribes Hill Fire Department will co-host their annual Fire Safety Night on Wednesday, October 20th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the fire department located on Mohawk Drive, Tribes Hill. All interested persons are welcome to attend.

"Protecting our loved ones is the responsibility of every parent, neighbor and citizen," Senator Farley said. "That's why it is important to stay informed on fire safety and to take steps to protect yourself and your families."

Senator Farley Secures Funds for Schenectady Free Health Clinic

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) today announced that he has obtained a $75,000 state grant to assist the Schenectady Free Health Clinic.

“I’m pleased to once again provide a hand to this volunteer-based organization that performs so many good works for the people of Schenectady County. It takes a special kind of medical staff to do this type of work for free,” said Senator Farley.

Farley today called on state leaders to keep the promise they made to the residents of Canajoharie, who are facing significant tax increases as a result of the relocation of the Beech-Nut baby food manufacturing facility to the Town of Florida, NY. “When the State announced the approximately $100 million deal to relocate the Beech-Nut manufacturing facility to another site within Montgomery County, I stood beside then-Governor Spitzer as he made a commitment that the residents of Canajoharie would not be harmed in any way,” said Senator Hugh T. Senator Farley Salutes the 90th Anniversary of Women's Equality Day

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) will be celebrating the 90th anniversary of Women's Equality Day on August 26th in Johnstown at a luncheon sponsored by the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Consortium

"I look forward to this event," Senator Farley said, "Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815 - 1902) is well known for her work in women's rights. She hailed from Johnstown, New York, which is in my Senate district, so I am especially pleased to participate in this day of commemoration. Not only is she important in the history of Fulton County and New York State, Elizabeth Cady Stanton played a vital role in our Nation's history."

Women's Equality Day commemorates the passage in 1920 of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.

SENATOR FARLEY CALLS FOR A STOP TO THE GROUND ZERO MOSQUE

Senator Hugh T. Farley (R-I-C, Schenectady) called today to immediately stop the proposed plans to build a mosque in lower Manhattan. The mosque would be sited mere blocks from the Ground Zero site where the World Trade Center was violently attacked on September 11, 2001. Senator Farley noted that the placement of the proposed mosque and community center, is an affront to all of those New Yorkers who lost friends and relatives in the World Trade Center Attacks. Moreover, it would present a serious security threat in an area of New York that has already seen repeated attacks by radical Islamic terrorists.

Senator Farley Spends Afternoon With Fulton County Seniors

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C,I - Schenectady) spent the early afternoon in Gloversville at the 23rd Annual Senior Picnic hosted by the Fulton County Office for the Aging.

Over 500 people attended the July 29th event.

"Fulton County seniors are wonderful and the OFA staff did an excellent job," Senator Farley said about the day.
