Town & County Superintendents of Highways Discuss Bridges & Roads

Members of the New York State Association of Town Superintendents of Highways and New York State County Highway Superintendents Association were in Albany on March 6th to discuss their concerns with State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) for increased funding for bridge and road construction projects. Several road workers hailed from Hamilton, Herkimer and Saratoga Counties.

Senator Farley Announces NYS Senate Passes Budget Resolution

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) announced that he and his colleagues in the New York State Senate passed a 2013-14 budget resolution, that focuses on helping businesses create new jobs, investing additional funds in education and transportation, providing mandate relief to local governments, and restoring proposed cuts to women's health programs as well programs for the developmentally disabled. The budget also includes a proposal for a permanent two-percent state spending cap.

Senator Farley Reports on Blueprint for Jobs: ReThink. ReVitalize. ReBuild.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) and his Republican colleagues in the Senate announced a job creation plan to improve New York's business climate. Among other things, the "Senate Republican Blueprint for Jobs: ReThink. ReVitalize. ReBuild." would cut taxes for one million small businesses and reduce energy costs for every business and residential ratepayer in New York, saving them $2.5 billion.

The "Senate Republican Blueprint for Jobs" plan would provide:

• A Tax Cut for One Million Small Businesses

• Tax Relief for Manufacturers

• Lower Energy Bills for Every New Yorker and Every Business

• Sweeping Reforms to Cut Red Tape and Bureaucracy

Senator Farley Announces March 8th Is Blue Friday in NYS

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was proud to sponsor his annual resolution on March 7th recognizing "Blue Friday" in New York State.

"In 2005, I worked with radio station WGNA in creating this official State day to salute fallen law enforcement officers, and to support the families of fallen officers," Senator Farley said.

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was pleased to meet this year's 4-H representatives at the 78th Annual 4-H Capital Days in Albany on March 5th. Nearly 80 teen 4-H delegates from 37 counties participated in the event. Senator Farley had the pleasure to meet members during a legislative breakfast. The teens shared their 4-H experiences with the Senator.

Senator Farley Announces New Ballston Spa District Office Open

 

State Senator Hugh T. Farley has established a new District Office in downtown Ballston Spa, which is open for business.

It is located at 199 Milton Avenue (Route 50), near the corner of Ford Street and Milton Avenue. The telephone number is (518) 885-1829.

"I am pleased to open a new office in this beautiful and historic small village which serves as the county seat for Saratoga," said Senator Farley.  "With the new Senate lines, my district has shifted and I now represent about 60% of Saratoga by territory and 47% by population."

On March 5th, the New York State Library Association held a Lobby Day and Rally in Albany with the priorities of gaining support for public libraries and restoring funding. State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) attended both the rally and the meeting held in the Well of the Legislative Office Building. Senator Farley has been a longtime supporter of libraries and is the current Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries. "I am proud to have been a lifelong advocate for libraries, and will continue my efforts to assist them in meeting the needs of the public," Senator Farley said.

Senator Farley Unveils "Grown in New York" to Strengthen Agriculture and Family Farms

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) and his fellow Senate Republican colleagues have created a plan, "Grown in New York" that aims to help New York's family farms prosper.  The goal is to strengthen the State's $5.2 billion agriculture industry by expanding markets for New York-grown products, improving the bottom lines of family farms, and investing in the future of farming.

Senator Farley Unveils Family Tax Relief Act

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) and his fellow members of the Senate Republican Conference recently unveiled the Family Tax Relief Act, a package of tax relief and reform measures designed to provide a major economic boost to New York's struggling middle class families.

The Senate Republican plan would increase tax breaks that have not kept pace with inflation, and, in some instances, haven't been adjusted for more than 25 years. The plan also restores the STAR property tax rebate check program to provide real and direct relief to millions of New Yorkers who pay some of the highest property taxes in the country.
