Senator Seward Welcomes State Field Hockey Champs from Marathon to Albany

ALBANY, 03/09/10 – State Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I-Oneonta) today proudly welcomed the Marathon High School Girls’ Field Hockey team and their coach Karen Funk to Albany where they were honored during the senate session as the 2009 New York State Class C champions.

“The Marathon Girls’ Field Hockey team is synonymous with excellence,” said Senator Seward.  “The hard work and determination displayed by the 2009 team continues a growing tradition as the squad captured the school’s eighth state field hockey title.”

State Senate Pays Tribute to Fallen Trooper

ALBANY, 02/24/10 – The New York State legislature today adopted a legislative resolution honoring New York State Police Trooper Jill E. Mattice for her significant contributions to law enforcement and education.

Senate resolution 3812 was sponsored by Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I-Oneonta) and adopted on February 25, 2010.  Assemblyman Bill Magee sponsored the same resolution, assembly resolution 937, which was adopted on February 1, 2010.
