BRONX, NY - Senator Klein and Miss USA 2013 Erin Brady, joined by student choirs from P.S. 14 and P.S. 83 hosted “Valentines for Veterans” at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. The event marked Senator Klein’s 19th year hosting the event for local veterans. After the program, Senator Klein, Miss USA and children from P.S. 83 helped distribute valentines and gift bags prepared by children at 25 schools across the Bronx.

Senator Klein Applauds Arrest and Take Down of Bronx ‘Pill Mill’

BRONX, NY– Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) applauded the work of New York City and State law enforcement in arresting and indicting Dr. Robert Terdiman, Dr. Kevin Lowe and 21 individuals who took part in an illegal scheme to sell prescriptions for oxycodone at their clinic, Astramed Physicians, PC, in the Bronx. The two year investigation leading to yesterday’s arrest and indictment came from a tip provided by Senator Klein’s office, alerting them of potentially illegal activity at that site in 2010.

Senator Klein Launches Satellite Offices Across the Bronx and Westchester

January 9, 2014 – Starting Friday, January 10, 2014, Senator Klein will open satellite offices that will rotate weekly across various parts of Senator Klein’s district. Representatives from Senator Klein’s office will be at stationed locations, allowing for members of the community to have local access to casework assistance and information on community events. Satellite offices will be open from 9am to 5pm through March.

Senate Co-Leader Jeff Klein and Senator Diane Savino Urge State to Approve Mayor de Blasio's Universal Pre-K Plan

City Hall, Manhattan – Three days before the start of 2014 state legislative session, Senate Co-Leader Jeffrey D. Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) renewed his call for Albany’s approval of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s universal pre-k plan and released a new economic report detailing the major, long-term benefits of doing so. According to the report, An Economic Argument for NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Universal Pre-K Plan, New York City will earn a $3.7 billion return on investment if it enacts the program.
