KLEIN GRAFFITI CREW CLEANS VAN NEST CHURCH

72 hours after hearing that the Love Gospel Church in the Van Nest neighborhood of the Bronx had been vandalized, State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeffrey D. Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) joined local community leaders, church officials and a graffiti clean-up team to clean the side of the church on Saturday, June 5th. This is the second time in just two months that Senator Klein’s crew has helped remove graffiti from the church.

Former Marine Has Dedicated Life to Advocating for Veterans and the Bronx

 

State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced that local community leader, Pat Devine, was inducted into the new NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 1st. Klein nominated Devine to the position last month, citing his commitment to advocating for veterans and his fellow Bronx residents for more than three decades. Senator Klein will honor Devine at his annual fireworks extravaganza at Orchard Beach next month.

SENATOR KLEIN WELCOMES P.S. 81 STUDENTS IN ALBANY

State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeffrey D. Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) welcomed 120 students from P.S. 81 Robert J. Christen School in Albany on Tuesday for the school’s annual field trip to the Capital. The students received a tour of the Capitol building and the Corning Tower at Empire State Plaza and were then treated to a pizza party sponsored by Senator Klein.

Senator Klein presents $25,000 grant to Alzheimer’s Association NYC

NEW YORK, NY - Deputy Majority Leader State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) presented a $25,000 grant to Alzheimer’s Association NYC's Bronx Chapter on Thursday at the Providence Rest Nursing Home in the Bronx.

The money will be used to expand the Alzheimer’s Association MedicAlert® + Safe Return® program in the Bronx. The program is a 24-hour nationwide emergency response service for individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementia who wander or have a medical emergency.
