Klein Congratulates Captain Shea

RIVERDALE-Last night, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) joined in at the 50th Precinct Community Council meeting where he presented an award in recognition of the recent promotion of its commanding officer, Dermot Shea, to Deputy Inspector. Under Inspector Shea’s tenure there has been an overall reduction in crime and an 83% increase in arrests for Grand Larceny Auto; an issue which particularly plagues the Riverdale community. Senator Klein spoke with reverence about the Shea family with which Klein is intimately familiar.

Gov Lauds Klein In State Of The State

New York City had been subject to a foreclosure filing at the close of the third quarter, Spitzer praised Klein for his leadership.

Klein Champions Efforts To Protect Women Against Cervical Cancer

Bronx leads the city in instances of cervical cancer, we also have the only HPV Vaccine and Cervical Cancer prevention clinic to help protect women in a critical age range that need to be protected from this deadly disease.”

Bronx women do not access the healthcare system for screening. On average the clinic vaccinates about 20-30 women per week, totally hundreds since March.

Klein And Gov Condemn Foreclosure Crisis

QUEENS, NY-Amidst the foreclosure crisis which has engulfed the nation, Senator Jeff Klein met with Governor Elliot Spitzer in Minority Leader Malcolm Smith's district to  address the issue from one of the hardest hit areas in New York State: St. Albans, Queens. With 355 foreclosure filings from July 2006 through July 2007, Senator Klein's August report: Survey of Sub-prime Mortgages in New York State found that the neighborhood ranked third in Queens County for the most foreclosures.

Deck The Parkway!

BRONX- This past Friday, Senator Jeff Klein, joined by Santa Claus himself and the students of P.S. 108 and P.S. 83, flicked the switch at his 13th Annual Christmas Tree at Peace Memorial Plaza on Williamsbridge Rd and Pelham Parkway. Careening through the crowd on a horse drawn carriage Senator Klein showered thecrowdwith Christmas presents as the choir broke into "Deck the Halls" and other Christmas classics. The merry minions received stuffed santas and snomen, in addition to chocolate kisses.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY-Partaking in the Pelham Seniors' Annual Christmas Party, Senator Klein dropped by the Davenport Club to schmooze with the crowd and take in the holiday spirit. As a long time supporter of the group the Senator had the pleasure of taking dozens of seniors to an all expenses paid afternoon at the theatre this past September. Eager seniors enjoyed a three course luncheon at the Westchester Broadway Theatre and a special viewing of the award winning Broadway production, Little Shop of Horrors.

Klein Kindles 13th Annual Menorah Lighting

BRONX-Basking in the glow of 13 years of tradition, Senator Jeff Klein kicked-off the Festival of Lights, Hanukah, at his 13th Annual Menorah Lighting. Turkey Time With Senator Klein
