Klein Co-hosts Dmv Mobil Outreach Program

Fordham Road. DMV responded by offering to hold a Mobile Outreach Event in Senator Klein's district office to provide services for area residents in a more convenient setting.  Individuals renewed licenses and were able to apply for non-driver I.D.'s, among other services. The Mobile Outreach unit proved to be an efficient solution, offering individuals all the services of the DMV in the convenience of their own neighborhood.

Klein Mingles With Crowd At Summer Concert Series

BRONXVILLE-Dropping by one of his Summertime Symphonies, Senator Klein met with residents of Bronxville as they enjoyed an evening of free music performed by Jason Nazzaro. Senators Johnson, Klein, Hold Predatory Lending Forum

Long Island.

The forum, held at the Elmont Public Library, is the latest in a series of statewide public hearings headed by Senator Jeff Klein, (D-Bronx/Westchester) that examines the pitfalls of sub-prime mortgages.

The evidence and testimony gathered during these hearings will help develop legislative safeguards that will protect consumers and hold unscrupulous lenders accountable, Senator Johnson said.

The study found certain problems with the reliability of express bus service, for which the Senator made five major recommendations. In response to constituent concerns about a lack of on-time service Senator Klein has been working with the MTA Bus Company to address these issue.

Westchester Democratic Delegation Announces Funding Increases For Crime Prevention Initiatives

New York City plagued with more than 80% of statewide crime, excluding the city. Total funding for Operation IMPACT will increase from $14.9 million to $17 million.

According to statistics provided by the Governor's office, crime in counties where Operation IMPACT has been implemented is down by 5%.

Klein Cuts Check For Camping

BRONX-Senator Klein stopped by Boy Scout Troop #182 last Thursday to present a check for $1000 to eager scouts. Klein, an avid fisherman, spoke briefly about his own enjoyment of the outdoors, the importance of public service, and the role organizations like the Boy Scouts of America serve to promote civic mindedness and physical activity in young people. When asked how they intend to spend the money, the troop leader responded that he hoped it would help support the cost of camping trips, an important activity in the life of a young scout.

BRONX-Once again Orchard Beach saw an explosion of colors and charisma as Senator Klein and Bronx Borough President Carrionhosted the3rd Annual New York Salutes America Celebration. Over 5000 people swarmed the beach for an evening of live music, face painting, carnival fun, and a private BBQ reception. Morris Park Gets Blitzed
