By Jeff KleinOn Dec. 6, Detective Dillon Stewart was laid to rest and two state troopers were shot serving a warrant on a suspected drug den near my Throgs Neck office.

In 2000, Klein wrote the first law in the nation banning the direct shipment of cigarettes to New York consumers, enforcement efforts were stymied by the Governor’s unwillingness to take on reservation-based sellers who illegally divert untaxed cigarettes intended for sale to tribal members to consumers all over New York and the nation.
