KLEIN PAYS TRIBUTE TO CITY ISLAND BY HOSTING ITS ANNUAL "WOMEN'S HERSTORY MONTH" CELEBRATION

On Sunday March 13, 2011, Senator Klein paid tribute to City Island by hosting its Annual "Women's Herstory Month" Celebration and commemorating "The Anne Hutchinson Year," in honor of this Bronx/American historic figure in recognition of her 420th Birthday Anniversary (1591-1643).

ALBANY, NY, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Westchester/Bronx) and Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj (D-80) joined together yesterday in passing a Joint resolution in both the Senate and the Assembly commemorating the Fifth Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Kosova on February 17, 2013. Following American and NATO-led military intervention in Kosovo to end ethnic cleansing under Slobodan Milosevic, Kosova is now functioning under a democratic Constitution and has established diplomatic relations with the United States.

Senator Klein Hosts Annual Black History Month Breakfast

BRONX, NY - State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) joined former New York City Comptroller, Bill Thompson, local elected officials, African-American Community leaders and nearly 300 constituents in celebrating Black History Month at his annual breakfast at Villa Barone Manor today. At the breakfast, the program included a keynote address from former New York City Comptroller, Bill Thompson, musical performances from the Reverend Nathaniel Tyler Lloyd Legacy Choir of Trinity Baptist Church and the presentation of awards to African-American community leaders for their work in the district and beyond.
