With 11,518 same sex couples marrying in New York over the last year, New York experienced economic growth even greater than the IDC could have predicted.
BRONX, NY - With Thanksgiving just around the corner, State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) today announced the donation of more than 100 turkeys to numerous organizations, local groups and residents across the 34th Senate District. On Monday he visited grandmothers planning Thanksgiving meals at the Pelham Parkway Houses, which is home to some 2,500 children and families. The tree lighting extravaganza commenced in the late afternoon, with the first event at Rudy Macina Peace Memorial Plaza, followed closely by the tree lighting at Pelham Parkway and White Plains Road.

BRONX, NY - State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), together with hundreds of little leaguers, local families, community members and elected officials, today celebrated opening day in the Bronx – touring little league parades in Pelham, Riverdale and on City Island. Klein marched along with children and families, cheered on youngsters in uniform and threw the first pitch at City Island’s home opener at Ambrosini Field.
