BRONX, NY– Standing on the steps of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Senator Klein, joined by dozens of Bronx homeowners and Assemblyman Marcos Crespo (D-Bronx), announced that a lawsuit charging fraud, conspiracy, breach of contract and negligence had been filed against members of an elaborate scheme targeting first time, minority homeowners. Homeowners allege that the defendants, working in concert, (referenced to as the “Tota-Kash Group” in the complaint), bilked them for millions of dollars by inducing them to purchase homes in the Bronx without valid certificates of occupancy and with shoddy workmanship.

State Senate Passes Klein Bill Extending Critical Foreclosure Protections for Homeowners

ALBANY, NY – Senate Co-Leader Jeffrey Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced Wednesday that the State Senate voted 56 - 1 in favor of his legislation that would extend vital foreclosure prevention measures and homeowner protections for an additional five years beyond the February 2015 expiration date.

Bronx NYCHA Housing Complexes Receive more than $3.7 Million in Capital Grants

BRONX, NY - State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced Friday that three New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) complexes in his district will receive a total of $3,710,000 in capital funding that he secured in this year’s state budget. The monies are slated for the Sack Wern, Pelham Parkway and Throgs Neck Housing complexes and will be used for much needed upgrades aimed at improving the living conditions, safety and lifestyle of the residents who call these complexes home.
