Former Marine Has Dedicated Life to Advocating for Veterans and the Bronx
State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced that local community leader, Pat Devine, was inducted into the new NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 1st. Klein nominated Devine to the position last month, citing his commitment to advocating for veterans and his fellow Bronx residents for more than three decades. Senator Klein will honor Devine at his annual fireworks extravaganza at Orchard Beach next month.

At the event, over 30 New York and Bronx based employers will reach out to veterans about current openings at their company or institution. ALBANY, NY – Senator Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) honored Bronx native and resident, Silvio Mazzella, at the New York Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony for his service in the United States Marine Corps. After training in Paris Island, South Carolina, North Carolina, San Diego and Okinawa, he served in Vietnam.
BRONX, N.Y. – Today, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced that his Hire-a-Vet Tax Credit, a program that will provide every business that hires a post-9/11 veteran with a tax credit of up to $15,000, is now officially a part of state budget. Senator Klein fought for the tax credit during this year’s budget negotiations after learning about the sky-high unemployment rate among New York’s returning veterans.
