During Hurricane Sandy Recovery, Senator Klein Delivers Hot Meals to Seniors in Woodlawn

On Friday, my office learned that nearly 150 Woodlawn seniors in a highrise building were still without power. Concerned for these brave folks, my staff and I swept into action. Within three hours, thanks to the genrosity of local volunteers and a great Bronx restaurant (The Pine), I delivered 150 hot meals to every resident in the 100 unit apartment building. It took a lot of walking up dark stairwells, but it was definitely worth it. Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz joined me, and we can safely say that we have never met a more upbeat and appreciative crowd. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!

Bx24 Service Returns

"Today marks an important victory in our efforts to improve public transportation in the Northeast Bronx.  Since the first day the Metropolitan Transit Authority announced the removal of a direct route between the Country Club and Westchester Square communities in February 2010 I have been outspoken in my criticism of their plans.  Last year in April, I held a town hall with the top brass of the MTA to convey to them the importance this route serves in our communities.
