Participating schools from Baldwinsville were Reynolds Elementary, McNamara Elementary, VanBuren Elementary, and L.Pearl Palmer Elementary.

On February 1, 2013, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco officially wrapped up his 2013 Cell Phones for Soldiers collection drive to benefit our deployed soldiers. Senator DeFrancisco announced that his office collected 1,500 donated cell phones this season- a record amount! These phones will provide nearly 6,000 hours of free talk time to soldiers stationed around the world.
Senator DeFranciso is grateful to the Central New York community for its overwhelming support. He also thanks all of the local businesses, schools and organizations that served as his designated collection sites. These sites were expanded into Auburn, Fayetteville and Manlius this season:

The Village of Minoa celebrated its 100th Anniversary on January 25, 2013, with a Centennial Celebration at the Minoa Municipal Building. During the ceremony, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco presented Minoa Mayor Richard Donovan with a Senate Resolution to honor the village for its proud history and accomplishments.
State Senator John A. DeFrancisco participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Christian Health Services of Syracuse, Inc. The event was held on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 3200 Burnet Ave. The nonprofit center will primarily serve individuals who are covered by Medicaid or Medicare.

On November 1, 2012, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco helped announce a new round of funding for Grants for Growth. The program, now entering its 10th round, awards grants to various companies. During a press conference at The Tech Garden, Senator DeFrancisco addressed the program's impact on our economy through product development and job creation.
