DeFrancisco would like to congratulate all of the students from the Baldwinsville School District, who had their artwork on display as part of the NYS Art Teachers Association 23rd Legislative Student Exhibit: A Celebration of Young Artists exhibit in Albany. Participating schools from Baldwinsville were Reynolds Elementary, McNamara Elementary, VanBuren Elementary, and L.Pearl Palmer Elementary.

Rouse was named Gatorade's 2012-2013 New York Player of the Year. Rouse is a student at C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY. DeFrancisco presented Patricia Gansz with a Senate Resolution upon the occasion of her designation as the New York Association for Continuing/Community Education 2013 Student of the Year Award. State Senator John A. DeFrancisco presented Reginald Dennis with a Senate Resolution in Albany on March 6, 2013. Mr. Dennis was the recipient of the New York Association for Continuing/Community Education 2013 Student of the Year Award.
On February 1, 2013, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco officially wrapped up his 2013 Cell Phones for Soldiers collection drive to benefit our deployed soldiers. Senator DeFrancisco announced that his office collected 1,500 donated cell phones this season- a record amount! These phones will provide nearly 6,000 hours of free talk time to soldiers stationed around the world.
Senator DeFranciso is grateful to the Central New York community for its overwhelming support. He also thanks all of the local businesses, schools and organizations that served as his designated collection sites. These sites were expanded into Auburn, Fayetteville and Manlius this season:
On January 25, 2013, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco met with Mayor Carl Lincoln and other elected officials in the Village of Cato. Senator DeFrancisco has been reaching out to leaders who are new to his 50th Senate District, in order to introduce himself and to hear more about ongoing issues.

The Village of Minoa celebrated its 100th Anniversary on January 25, 2013, with a Centennial Celebration at the Minoa Municipal Building. During the ceremony, State Senator John A. DeFrancisco presented Minoa Mayor Richard Donovan with a Senate Resolution to honor the village for its proud history and accomplishments.
State Senator John A. DeFrancisco participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Christian Health Services of Syracuse, Inc. The event was held on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 3200 Burnet Ave. The nonprofit center will primarily serve individuals who are covered by Medicaid or Medicare.
State Senator John A. DeFrancisco joined various state leaders in Albany on December 19, 2012, to help award a $93.8 Million Regional Economic Development Council Award to Central New York representatives. He is standing on stage in between Syracuse University Chancellor Nancy Cantor and CenterState CEO President Robert Simpson.
