She wrote and performed the iconic song, "Freight Train." Several hundred senior citizens from throughout Central New York attended Senator John DeFrancisco's annual Senior Fair at the New York State Fairgrounds on September 27, 2012. Nearly 90 exhibitors were stationed under one roof to provide seniors with valuable information on various programs and services. Local health professionals also offered free health screenings. Entertainment was provided by the Mickey Vendetti band. Senator DeFrancisco would like to thank all of the vendors who made this year's Senior Fair a success and all of the seniors who attended.

Senator John A. DeFrancisco announced at Mundy Library on September 18, 2012, that he has secured $90,000 dollars in state funding for local libraries. These funds will be awarded to individual libraries throughout Onondaga County in system-wide programs and mini-grants over the next two years.
Upstate Medical University will begin construction on a $15 million dollar Upstate Cord Blood Bank, located on the former Community General campus. This public blood bank will collect, process and store umbilical cord blood donated by families for life-saving medical procedures.
